No animals were Uncanny Valleyed in the making of this movie

An essay by Roger Ebert that asserts that the day has come where advanced CGI allow convincing animals to be created and shown doing essentially anything. But as a result, film views feel no real pity anymore for animals on screen as these days they are reduced to interchangeable CGI beings.
